Little And Falace’s Dental Management Of The Medically Compromised Patient, 8e by James W Little, Donald Falace, Craig Miller and Nelson L Rhodus is an updated and succinct reference book that provides ample information to its readers on how to provide proper dental care to a patient, no matter which medical condition he or she suffers from. The book provides in-depth information on the dental management of a patient who is medically compromised. The content in the book has been designed to help readers learn how to get the root of their patients’ medical requirements.

Some of the important topics covered in the text are the different medical conditions that a patient may suffer from, the drug dosage to be given and the side effects and drug interaction he or she may experience. In addition, there is an entire chapter on the major health problems in the US and other countries, such as ischemic heart disease, sleep related disorders, diabetes mellitus and sexually transmitted diseases. Towards the end of the book, there are two appendices that go over the therapeutic management of oral lesions and the use of alternative and complementary drugs.

What makes this book an informative read is the fact that it contains plenty of illustrations and tables that are well organised and included in every chapter. A useful book for all practicing dentists, Little And Falace’s Dental Management Of The Medically Compromised Patient, 8e has been published by Mosby in its 8th edition in 2012. It is available in paperback.
